YOUR STORY BEGINS     The Storm came. You only remember darkness, but you don't remember much after that. All you know, perhaps, is that it was cold as you slept. You don't know for how long you slept, but the dreams were short, at least. You remember the expanse of stars and the universe that came in view. Every world and solar system ever known was displayed in your dreams in careful, pristine detail. You have also witnessed The Storm, which has devoured a fair portion of these galaxies. It was a dark, thick smog; ominous in appearance and ever foreboding. Your Earth and similar planets were immersed in The Storm. Somehow, you knew it would be the last you'd see of it. That was when she told you what happened, and how you can help. You knew that you'll be living somewhere new, even though you never asked for it. The details here weren't clear, but you knew you'd made a deal with Darma. Not long after, you'll wake at Thesa Station — Your body is still cold. It was all a dream, but somehow, you knew it wasn't — now, will you keep that promise you made to Darma? PROMPT: THE MESS HALL     It's fascinating to the Orbiters how such a dull room can be turned around so completely with people in it. All meals are served by Roman, and while all the food is delicious, some of it is a bit odd. Is that neon green soup? That’s hideous. If you happen to be in the mess hall at a particularly unlucky time, you and the food will suddenly begin to drift. Someone’s got jokes, and they’ve turned off the gravity control. Now it’s just you, your fellow refugees, and the floating sea of food. Wait, did that person just chuck a pie in your direction? PROMPT: TRAINING MODULES     While it’s all nice and well to familiarize oneself with Thesa Station, it is most advised that new arrivals venture out a bit. Not physically. No one is quite prepared for that yet. However, there will be several virtual reality training programs set for those who dare to be adventurous. For those who aren’t and don’t dare, well— good luck, all the same. Be advised, however, that participating in one of the training modules will start you off favorably with the Natha Orbiters’ in terms of REPUTATION. Once seated and appropriately strapped in, the system will automatically whir to life and the dense foliage and forestry of a section of El Nysa will open up. According to one’s map registry, it clear to see that it’s miles from the outer gates of Olympia, but not as far enough to venture into any other territories. So, in that sense, you’re safe. 1. Or you could have been, but unfortunately the wilderness is home to various types of beasts and monsters hailing from different universes and galaxies. On the bright side, perhaps one of them will be oddly familiar to you. Or maybe someone else who is currently synced is willing to give you that extra helping hand. Fortunately, if you’re powerless, there are options. From telekinesis to flight, there are strange abilities one can adopt and “test” out in the virtual reality. Granted, you’re only limited to one at a time. They say in the near future, some of you may be granted these abilities under certain conditions. But, please practice some caution. You aren’t alone in the system, after all. 2.. Who do you fight for, the VR system will ask you individually before you enter the module. The righteous Olympians, or the free-spirited Wyvers? Whatever your choice, when you enter El Nysa, you will wholly and truly believe your allegiance. A. Working together: You now have to suffer the consequences of your choice, as you and your partner have been captured by guards of the opposite faction. Now jailed and soon-to-be tortured, you must find some way to negotiate your release. Perhaps you’ll find some means to escape without detection. Maybe you’re the “fight your way out” sort of people. B. Facing your enemy: That person you stepped into the VR with? They’re out to capture you. Or maybe you seek to capture them. 3. When you enter the virtual reality, things aren’t exactly how they’re supposed to be. Maybe that’s natural, especially if this is your first time, but the problems here seem a bit more fundamental. Maybe you find yourself under a parental safety lock, and you’re suddenly censored. Exposed back? Censored. Body suit? Censored. Or replaced with a mascot costume. Worst of all? You can’t sign out. Not right now, at least. Regardless, whatever it is— ridiculous filters, body alterations, or even body swaps with other users... you are assured it’ll all be fixed with due time. Zasere sends his humblest apologies and promises no more wire chewing, or so the announcement states. PROMPT: STASIS UNIT     You have found the massive section of Thesa known as the Stasis Unit. There’s no special access required to access this part of Thesa Station, but refugees are warned that it may not be for the faint of heart. Here, in large pods that nearly cover every square inch of the space, are all of the people the Orbiters have managed to rescue. Your loved ones, your greatest enemy, your next door neighbor— you might find them here. These people are in a state of deep cryosleep. Due to the damaging effects of The Storm, their bodies are not yet ready to be awoken. PROMPT: HANGAR STATION     You find your way to the hangar station. Here rests are a factory worth of docked mobile suits. You recall how the Orbiters had previously spoken of a "space frontier," but only after seeing this you realize how real their words are. Most machinery have marks of wear and tear, assurance that they have indeed been used before, and an assembly of others are going through repairs and maintenance. No one seems to care that you've just strolled in. In fact, there seems to be a couple of the aircraft that beckon you to take a closer look. Maybe you’ll only look on the outside, maybe you'll be greeted by the hand of a mobile suit extending toward you and welcoming you to its cockpit. You go out and explore SPACE!!! Unfortunately, that mobile suit should have warned you it only had 20 minutes of flight time left in its system. Or, perhaps, you’re a particularly ambitious pilot and you’ve strayed past the designated perimeter. Either way, the HUD display is now blinking with errors, cropping up with a single message: DISTRESS SIGNAL. 1. You’re the poor sap who happened to chill around the Observation Deck. Unfortunately, everyone seems busy with the influx of mobile suits out and about, and the only one who can answer this distress signal is on the Navigation System, well, you. Hope you can figure out the controls fast enough. Guide the pilot back to the safety of the hangar using the most efficient route possible. Keen Navigators will find an instruction manual that provides a shortcut to automatically return a suit back to base. 2. You’re actually sitting in a two-seater mobile suit. Funny how that works, isn’t it? Maybe you were unwittingly dropped down a hatch, or dragged along for a joyride by your ambitious co-pilot. Either way, it looks like help is going to take some time... PROMPT: OMAGE     Upon receiving your mobile phone, you will be asked to set a username. Voila, you can now access the network! You can choose to send a message to the entire network, specific usernames, or you can try out the Orbiters’ service, Omage, which connects you to a random user. They thought this might be a good way for their new guests to make friends with each other... Connecting to server... Looking for someone you can chat with... You’re now chatting with [username]... TRAINING 2:

[ He only stepped in out of curiosity. Chuuya hadn't quite expected to be saddled with a decision to make, to have to choose between two nations of people he didn't even know of. Naturally, he's loyal to neither - his true loyalties lie with a certain man in a stasis pod - but for the sake of the game, he made a random decision. He chose to side with the 'Free-Spirited' Wyvers, if only because that struck him as more interesting.

He hadn't expected to start feeling so completely immersed into the game, to start believing the fake world around him and his place in it. Inside the VR, he's now another Wyver soldier, and he has been for ... a fair period of time. He isn't giving the tribe his undying loyality, but he's acknowledging his purpose here, and the benefits of completing the missions set out by his superiors.

This particular mission? Capture an Olympian person-of-interest for a later interrogation. That's where your character comes in - in the VR, they're an important Olympian commander with secrets to keep. That, or maybe they're working on some technology or weaponry sought out by the Wyvers. Either way, they matter, and that's why Chuuya's been sent to kidnap them.

He makes no secret of his approach, striding toward them boldly with his hands in his pockets. ]

TRAINING 3:

[ This is a catboy prompt. yeah i dont even know

As soon as Chuuya enters the VR, he feels something quite ... different about himself. His hat can't quite seem to stay on his head, sliding to the side constantly, and there's something poking out of the back of his pants. It's seconds into the glitch that he realises .. just what has changed. Taking off his hat, he feels the furry, pointed ears that are now sitting at the top of his head. ]

What the hell?! [ The surprise makes his tail stand on end too, sticking out from inside his pants. this prompt is a work of literature ] There's been a mistake! Sign me out!

[ Maybe your character's an animal-person too. It's a furry world out there, be careful. ]

MESS HALL:

[ While your character and just about everyone else are floating through the hall and narrowly dodging plates of strange goo, guess who's perfectly seated at his table (ON THE GROUND), drinking his alien coffee the way most people in the cafeteria probably wish they could? This asshole right here. Gravity Manipulation just so happens to be Chuuya's ability, so he doesn't even flinch when the gravity gets adruptly turned off. He doesn't ... go out of his way to help his fellow new imports either, oops?

What he does do is casually backhand a plate of purple pie that floats in his direction, and that pie may be floating at your character now instead. ]

[ That voice ... The moment Chuuya hears it, he can feel his whole body tensing up, each muscle clenching tight until he's almost shaking. It inspires an almost instinctive reaction from him, a hot flash of raw emotion that boils underneath the surface and threatens to spill over. As Dazai speaks against his soft ear, voice tickling at the little tuffs of fur, Chuuya feels like he's a mere few seconds from exploding.

And he's never been very restrained about his anger. Of course his reaction is exactly as Dazai had anticipated. ] Just who is the one who reeks here?! [ Immediately, he turns, aiming a roundhouse kick directly at the man behind him. His ears flatten, much like a wired-up cat, and his tail sways behind him. ] Who is the one who smells just as rotten as he acts?

[ Rhetorical question. Dazai knows who he means. His petty annoyance aside, there is a part of him that takes in the sight before him, the confirmation that the man lying blissfully asleep in the pod earlier is now here and being just as much of a nuisance as before. When he looks at him, he swells up with disdain - an emotion that governs most of their interactions - but there's also some sort of comfort in being able to fall back into a usual routine. ]

[ This whole place is more than a little eerie if Rhys had to be honest about it. It's colder than the rest of the station--obviously--but it keeps a permanent chill on the back of his neck he just can't quite push away. He wishes he had on something more than his sleek suit, but remains grateful for the fact that he had the forethought to design his new cybernetic arm with a carefully regulated internal temperature. He can't even begin to imagine how chilly his arm would be without that, ugh.

It's a cold comfort (it sounds bad to him too when he makes the joke in his own head, don't worry) to find that not only are Vaughn and Yvette stored and safe inside stasis units, but Fiona, and Sasha as well. An especially fond and relieved smile flashes across Rhys's face at finding her safe and sound, unable to keep from lifting one hand and placing it on the glass. ]

Glad to see you made it, heh.

[ He knows she can't hear him like this but Rhys doesn't care. He makes the gesture all the same and sighs almost wistfully before drawing his hand back and moving to turn away, only to wail yell in surprise when he nearly bumps right into someone else--a short girl with a seriously sick hairstyle--aka? Whh--hoooooo, aa! Oh--oh man, you. [ Rhys wheezes and holds a hand over his heart. He blames everything on how unreasonably creepy this place is. ] You scared me, h-hah...

[ Since waking, Mordin has taken an interest in the stasis pods that he might be inclined to call personal. It's a xenoscientist's dream, make no mistake, walls lined floor to ceiling with his own people, with humans, with species heretofore unseen in Council space. And there are krogan, as well. Important. No children, or none that he's been able to identify so far, but there aresamsara, and they look somewhat alike—has always held a certain appeal. To be reborn, allowed an opportunity to correct the mistakes of one's former life. It's a lot to hope that this is that opportunity. He's still old, still prideful, still stubborn. But not trying is worse.

So he's spent a lot of time in the stasis unit lately, naturally curious about the way the Natha work but also there out of a certain sense of... stewardship, in a way. Arrogant of him, maybe, but of all the things Mordin knows he is, humble was never necessarily one of them. He's there seemingly at all hours (does he sleep?), monitoring readouts and making occasional conversation with new arrivals looking for acquaintances. If it seems he's deliberately absorbing himself in the work he's made for himself, well, that's because he is. ]

Vitals holding steady. Brain function reduced, expected from cryo, but otherwise normal. Probably not even dreaming. Peaceful sleep.

[ Maybe he says this because he was asked; more likely it's because he's a doctor and this is habit. Bedside manner. So to speak. ]

WOOF WOOF WOOFWOOWOOF-- while no particular authorization was required to enter the chamber, isabelle never quite worked up the nerve to go in herself. just as mordin felt compelled to oversee the dozing future refugees, isabelle isn't used to permitting herself entry and access to anything so much as looking authoritarian-- the mention of those without fortitude should exercise caution doesn't do her nerves any favors either. she can handle scary movies, but only if digby is nearby. scorpions and tarantulas outside the window of the office will guarantee her night is devoid of sleep.

isabelle wasn't sure what to expect outside of what little she saw upon arrival; the whole thing was hectic, honestly, and she didn't recognize anyone else around her, so coming here wasn't an impertinent matter. however, a basket of fruit caught her attention earlier that day, and it reminded her of the new mayor, her old remaining villagers who stayed after the end of tortimer's term, and all the work that needed to be done.

she just had look and see. it was more like making sure no one she recognized was there, rather than the other way around. odd, she knew, but even if she spent more time confused and unable to relate all the humans than not, it was still better than someone else being here with her.

mordin though-- mordin was definitely not a face she recognized, cuz she's not in the game and she's never seen a fuckin alien before in her life. tanukis, yes, aliens, not so much. it's not that weird though, all things considered, and he seemed to be in charge of this place since he's going on about all this crazy shit about the sleeping ice pops she barely understands, so with her telltale jingles, she approaches him. ]

[ Most people are using this little corner of the station as a place to relax and settle down, as it's meant to be used. But Kate has a way with going about different ways of doing things, ignoring the relaxation part of this lounge zone, and instead drawing plenty of attention to herself.

Because there's something difficult to ignore when there's a girl in a tight purple jumpsuit on her knees, scavenging through the lounge's lower shelves, shuffling through the assortment of items placed there. Old board games and classic kid toys, selections familiar to an old life on Earth, aren't enough to garner her attention. Something else is on her mind, as she pushes a pile of yo-yo's to the side.

With furrowed brows, she doesn't even take notice of the annoyed glances from passing guests who'd wandered through the room hoping for a place of peace and quiet. ]

She's also very worried about Bruce, Selina and Alfred to name a few others.) But that was when a stray plate of pasta with red sauce came flying towards the redhead. So mostly out of force of habit she dodges the plate and lets out a simple call.]

[So. Jailed. Unfortunately not an unfamiliar situation for Merlin, which could have worked to make him calmer than pacing back and forth in the virtual cell, muttering and occasionally tapping on the walls like that's going to help, but well - it didn't. He's restless if nothing else, scrambling for a quick and easy way out of here, stealth and style be damned. The things he's looking at seem to be completely random - a brick here, a spot on the floor there, a few experimental taps against the bars to this cell...

And then abruptly he spins around to you, oh very patient (or perhaps not so patient) cellmate. Hello.]

[The stasis unit is something Merlin's been avoiding, all things considered. As long as he doesn't go, if he doesn't see who's there and who isn't, which people he hasn't managed to protect enough—as illogical as protecting people from a space cloud is, he feels responsible—well. As long as he avoids it, he can keep pretending something about this is fine.

That never works long term; it's inevitable that he makes his way down to the stasis unit eventually. For a while he loiters just outside, wandering past a few times like he can't convince himself to go inside and very overtly gesturing to anyone trying to get around him to please, go ahead, ignore him completely thank you very much—

But eventually he'll make it in, and he'll make it as far as the first pod containing someone he recognizes (looks like a big jerk tbh) before he stops, the confidence he mustered to come in here already draining quickly.]

( Being captured isn't what she's used to, but it's definitely not the first time she's happened to find herself in this situation. She paced, sure, and spent some time looking for a possible escape. But when it became apparent that there wasn't something obvious, she decided to sit down for a few minutes to recover her energy. Becoming ennerverated wouldn't do her, or anyone else, any good, and anyway she knows she's a valuable hostage. Worth much, much, much more alive then dead.

So it's for entirely pragmatic reasons she's calmly on the ground, her hands in her lap, when she has to look up. Mercy caught the words but doesn't know what to think of them. What is basically what her expression says. )

[ Waking up somewhere soft is weird. Somewhere sterile, full of space. Then again, a lot's weird. His dreams too, or what he assumed was the last shot his brain had at giving him some sort of whatever it had left. What he got was a lot more spectacular, visions of space dust and stars, all manner of destruction.

Voices making promises, wanting allegiance. Trading strength for life, like always.

Mikazuki wakes up to his paralyzed body restored. Right eye no longer dim and blind, right arm able to flex, right leg able to swing itself over the edge of the bed (and then not even touch the ground because that's what 157cm gets you) so he can sit upright. He's too focused to be confused, even if it takes him longer to digest info he's been fed. It's a focus that flicks up, to the opposite bunk, honing in like he's about to snap his teeth at the next living thing that gets too close. That happens to be you, but luckily, he breathes, in and: ]

[ Like most things he deals with, Mikazuki plans to do so with a full stomach. He woke up starving. If that means he has to stuff his face with radioactive-looking vegetables or clear, gel-like pudding, and something that suspiciously resembles eggs but also sort of doesn't? — it's all going down the hatch. Forget the Storm, it's his stomach that's the real universal singularity for someone so small. Though there seems to be something he's ignoring. That weird meat tube thing.

He thinks it's just moved. Trying to escape, maybe. ]

If it's meat, I don't want it.

[ This is familiar. The smell of alloy dust and oil, chilly space bearing down on all sides of the deck. Mikazuki likes hangars. This one is bigger than anything he's ever seen, stretching onwards, full of unfamiliar suits and machinery. He's on a catwalk, one hand extended to meet the likewise extended "hand" of a mobile suit (III-A): ]

Sorry. [ He pushes his palm against it. ] I don't think I'll work with you.

[ Glancing over his shoulder, he notes the presence of another person, tipping his head aside in consideration. ]

[ Or maybe you've come up on him (III-B) when he's finally stopped his purposeful but exploratory stride through the hangar, having found what he's looking for. He was assured it'd be here, and he had to make sure with his own two eyes. So Mikazuki floats in the zero-g, arms hooked easily against the rails overlooking a white suit, all limbs and sharp angles. It's dormant, stationary on its platform, looking as though it's been locked into place. Yet Mikazuki kicks his feet gently against his perch, humming in his throat. ]

So they fixed you too.

[ IV. STASIS UNIT ]

[ Looking for things has been the name of the game. Proof of what he was promised for this second shot at... well, whatever they'd call this. Life? Maybe. If it can be called that, with his cause and purpose locked away, safe and sound like his Gundam and, well.

Alive.

Mikazuki sits outside one of the stasis pods, tucked far into the aisles upon of them. He'd tracked this particular one down. His posture is loose, knees crooked and arms rested on them. A handgun rests thoughtfully in his grip. Tipping his head back to look up, his hair brushes against the metal casing separating him from whoever's inside. ]

I made a promise to someone other than you, this time.

[ A breath, almost amused, in a weird, pale kind of way. ]

Was that okay?

IV. Stasis Unit

We all made promises we didn't really expect to.

[Mai's restless. She always is when she's told to sit still for very long. There's only so much training a person can do and so many meals they can eat to take up the stretches of quiet time.

So she comes here to roam and wander, pacing out footsteps among the aisles of still faces. Most of them she doesn't know but she does make sure at least once a day to bend her steps toward the faces she does recognize. They're just down the way from where Mikazuki sits - a gravely silent mother and father, a little brother looking much calmer than she's ever known him to. A lineup of others she can only look at in wonderment and debate why she was the one out of so many good people who woke up first.

If they chose someone as the ambassador for her world, they sure picked the wrong person.

She knows he isn't talking to her but she can't help but respond as she pauses to look up at the person in the pod. As she had told Abelas before, everyone here likely had someone who cared about them in one way or another. And thinking on that was somehow mournfully sad in a way she would never voice aloud.]

In any event, Ermes spots someone nearby her and sees tell-tale foot prints in the ground of the creatures approaching. [ if she thinks about it, training of any kind is an effort to learn. Tinker Bell does better with that logic than she does strapped into a simulator full of unfamiliar technology. virtual reality is what they've called it, but if it gives her a sense of what she's gotten herself into, then the name isn't nearly as important as the experience.

once the program begins, she can't help but think of her own magic. it feels as if she's been transported somewhere else; like she truly is out in this new world learning the land. at first she's confident about it, wandering around on foot with her wand in her hand. it's not as if suspects she'll need it, Tinker Bell has always felt at home in the forest - and for her, the greener the better:

1 - [unfortunately, her efforts to embrace the simulation leave her unprepared for the large sections of the foliage that begin to move. sure enough, there's a beautifully camouflaged dragon in the middle of the forest, and it started to wake around the same time the fairy started wandering.

she's about ready to kick herself for the error when she hears a voice that stands out in contrast to the heavy rumble of the beast's breathing. a person, someone synced up in the simulation and a part of it with her. they're obviously going to have to fight, or run, or both. but their best bet of any action might be to team up.]

2A - [ Tinker Bell is surprisingly quiet as she sits in her cell and collects her thoughts. there's nothing good about being imprisoned, however, it is important to make use of the resources she has. her first thought is to study the guards and to pick up on their habits; who comes in, who comes out, and how long they stay there. there's not much of an opportunity to negotiate a release properly when they're surrounded by the enemy, which means their options are few. fight their way out, or find some way to disappear.

it's easier for Tink than it is for her partner, but she hasn't changed size yet. she'll do that once they have a plan, preferably when they're down to one or two guards and she can work with the element of surprise. her partner's a fighter, but all of this feels a little too real, and she doesn't want to risk something going wrong. they'll fight their way out if they have to, but there are quieter ways to go.]

3 - [ like magic, technology isn't perfect. Tinker Bell knew that going into the simulation, and she accepted the risk in the hopes of giving herself the experience she needs to understand the world around them. she normally doesn't go around testing new technology and seeing where it brings her, but her version of normal no longer exists, and survival in this world means gathering information. in theory, it's nothing she hasn't done before; but instead of learning plants and creatures and dangerous locations on an island run by wild boys, there's technology to work with.

at first, it seems like some kind of joke. it's in poor taste to dress her up like someone she knows (someone missing in all of this), yet Tinker Bell pushes forward. there's a familiar hook on her left hand, and she accepts that for what it is. oh -- but that's not all. let's not forget the leather abomination that she's been forced to wear. how anyone could survive in this thing for centuries, she'll never know.

since you're a familiar face, the first thing she'd like to offer to do is trade. can she interest you in some gaudy rings or a swap out of a velvet vest?]

[ It isn't exactly easy to snoop or check out the locks when the guards never let up, which would've been his first resort. As is, he keeps to himself long enough to gauge whether the guards are staying — they are — and then tests to see whether or not they care about their prisoners talking, which they apparently don't. ]

Hey. [ His voice is low, and after a cautious glance at the guards he turns to face Tinker Bell, back to the door. Then there's an awkward pause, because: ] Sorry, what was your name again?

[ That feels like something he should know, given the whole capture situation. Kind of a rude start to planning their escape, but it's better than calling her 'you' the whole time. ]

But regardless of what sides you're on, a spell rebounded and struck both of your devices.

And it's taken out your partner's set of armor. Dorian glistened with sweat, in full HD until... a sizable censor block around his entire waist. That doesn't seem to be what he's furious about, though, because more importantly: his glorious mustache has clipped into his nose.]

TRAINING MODULE

This isn't exactly what I had in mind.

[ it's a dry quip, tossed off to her partner in the corner of their small, cramped jail cell. it isn't the first instance in which she's been a captive, but she has less and less of a liking for it the more she's subjected to it. working her way out of it, stranger or no stranger at her side, is arguably preferable than pacing in frustration, and so she turns to her companion with what is admittedly the beginnings of a strategy.

slamming into the cell won't work, unless her partner has superhuman strength she isn't aware of, and bobby pins aren't an option when the tech is so far beyond some attempt at the gothic, rustic prisons that would feel more common in her world. as it stands, there seem to be few options available to them — and for as inclined as she is to put both of their heads together, she isn't exactly eager to wait for their captors to come negotiate and argue with her for her own freedom.

more importantly, she doesn't have the patience for it.

she crouches instead, voice shifting to something more conspiratorial, hushed, as she casts a furtive glance to the door. ] Ready to make for a run for it? [ all they need is a means of catching their attention, if not outright distracting them. ]

STASIS

[ she's been here for what feels like hours. the bags beneath her eyes show it, at least, regardless of how put together she otherwise looks.

it's impossible to look away, as though convinced it's a mirage that might evaporate the moment she turns her attention elsewhere. her mother's face is just as she recalls it, seemingly unharmed from just a glance, even as clary gives her a once-over to ensure she's whole.

her hand stays pressed to the glass for only a moment, and anyone that wanders by is nearly invisible for the minutes it takes her to reconcile that it might not be an illusion, some trap to stir her into contentment and gain her loyalty. only when she can manage to yank herself away does she look to the nearest individual, voice soft as to not interrupt their own attempts to maneuver through the pods. ]

Do you think it's a trick? [ she would prefer to think she would be able to pierce through any illusion, any glamour, but even clary is aware she's not the most experienced in that department — and that even the mere promise of her mother's return would be enough to convince her there's an opportunity to maybe, just maybe, get her back. ]

[Alec happens to be in the Stasis Unit as well, visiting his mother and Max, whose pods rest next to each other. He turns away and steps down the next row, making his way towards the door, when he catches sight of Clary. He stills, unsure whether he should approach or not. He knows whose pod she's standing before.

He hasn't been able to face going near Jocelyn's pod since learning of her being among the rest of the sleeping people. It doesn't feel right for him to be there now, intruding on Clary's time with her. He's just about to turn away when Clary looks up and speaks to him.

Alec isn't sure how to respond at first. He's had more than one reservation about their situation, about the Natha and how much they can be trusted. It's possible it could all be a lie. That every person in these pods is just an illusion used to control them. But he doesn't say any of that to her.

In Clary's eye he sees the same hesitant hope that he feels, the hope that this is real and that their loved ones are here and alive. That Jocelyn is alive. If anyone wants to believe that as much as Clary, it's Alec.]

I don't think it matters at this point. Either we follow along with what the Natha want and hope that everyone will soon wake up or we risk losing them forever. I know which one I'd rather believe.

1 - Mess Hall

[Despite the lifeless atmosphere of the room and the strange food, Kei was determined to make at least some semblance of normality despite of it. He had tried to eat as normally as possible for someone of his status - well seated, legs together, elbows off the table.

However when everything begins to float, his glare at the sight of food - that he wasn't particularly fond of - moving away is enough to stop most people from causing trouble. Which is probably why he never notices the pie floating towards him until he has to swat it away with one hand, causing chunks to move outward.]

Who caused this?!

[This was hardly proper. He thought he'd seen the last of flying foods from his days at St. Hermelin High when Brown and Mark would act like imbeciles.]

2 - TRAINING MODULES - 1
[Perhaps this training would be more enjoyable if he had a blade in his hand. Currently limited to only his Persona, Kei was attempting to fashion a makeshift weapon out of the foliage of this world, and failing horribly.

The movement attracted nearby beasts, and he spotted one in particular that was oddly familiar. What would a Jack Frost be doing in this world? Unless...]

I see. We weren't the only ones who were 'saved'. It would have been folly to think otherwise.

[He was distracted enough to move his eyes from the creature still far away to the sound of movement nearby. Someone else was coming closer. Hmm...perhaps they could be of use.]

Excuse me...[The words were whispered as he backed up.]...are you skilled in combat?

[There sure are a lot of strange things to see here, aren't there? Atsushi can't be sure whether they're all based on real plants, animals, and natural phenomena or not, but if the planet down there is at all like these simulations, Atsushi is getting a little curious to go there.

He spots the strange whatever-it-is before he spots another person, and he can't help his attention going mostly towards the former. It looks like something out of an anime! But Atsushi listens well enough, the more attentive for the whispered tone - and immediately replying in kind.]

I wouldn't say "skilled", but...

I. THE MESS HALL

[ okay, this looks bad. but is any of it really that surprising. probably not.

the storm, the orbiters, being in space in general, the weirder looking foods that are not meant to be trusted and definitely not meant to be eaten, and now lack of gravity. not many people can say weird space things are pretty much a biweekly occurrence for them. but clint is hawkeye, who is an avenger, meaning he’s a magnet for this stuff. arguably the worst part about all of this is that the whole purpose of coming to the mess hall had been to try and forget, even for just ten minutes, about the whole thing. seeing that storm looming overhead for days, not being able to do anything about it, and now being abducted -- even if the orbiters promised him safety. it was a lot to take in, especially when he was expected to just sit around.

right now, he’s dangerously close to the ceiling (which is rather far up), contemplating on all of this. clint barton will never eat brooklyn pizza again. sure, there’s always the chance his fellow people of brooklyn could be cooking, but those tomatoes? that dough? will never know what new york is. some of that weird soup he’d seen across the table from him had floated up with him, right near his foot. it’s an easy target to try and vent some of his frustrations on; clint tries to kick the bowl away, but somehow gets his foot caught in the bowl, so the soup dirties his shoe and cuff of his pants. he can already feel it seeping through. so now clint tries to kick it away, even more frustrated, and it does a good few rolls. right in someone’s general direction. ]

aw, c’mon. sorry -- [ hopefully that doesn’t hit you. whether it did or didn’t, there’s already a new problem: clint had thrown his head back, rather quickly, in disappointment at his life, but he was apparently much closer to the ceiling than he thought and hit the back of his head on the ceiling as hard as he could in zero gravity. ] nooo. [ please no concussion. ]

II. TRAINING MODULES (1)

[ the wire tenses. back muscles tighten and lock. slow your breathing. exhale -- relax your hand --

sure, he never misses. doesn’t make the perfect shots any less satisfying.

clint hesitantly steps forward, withdrawing one of three arrows from the beast’s eye. there’s a disgusting sound as he takes it out, along with a lot of weird goop spilling out. thankfully, he’s able to step back in time before it can get on his shoes. doesn’t seem to be acidic, he notes. it’s a big, sturdy ball of... mostly fluff, accompanied with small legs (that were surprisingly fast) and giant, bulging eyes. it looks like it belongs more in tundra or something than this weird jungle setting. almost looks kind of cute, but anything with a mouth that big and that many teeth isn’t really too adorable to him, especially when it tries to eat him.

he really shouldn’t stand around and casually clean his arrows off on the monster’s fur. yeah, it’s a really bad decision -- something he’s really good at -- especially when suddenly, there’s the sound of running. not people running, but more like hooves, kinda like if this now dead thing was running toward him except if there were about a dozen of them, and heavier. it’s more like a stampede, really. he’s quick to twist around, fire an arrow in the general direction of the sound (hears one cry out, good job barton even if you didn’t down it, also confirms that it’s the same type of animal or whatever as before, but... deeper?). he fires off another arrow, rolls into the bushes, narrowly escapes collision with a tree trunk, and stays the hell down.

clint isn’t entirely sure if someone else is hiding right into the spot he rolled into or not. if they are, they’re being really quiet for now, and he hasn’t gotten a good chance to look. right now he’s much more focused on the giant big fluff boys. they had suddenly stopped, probably smelling their dead -- their dead kid. yeah, that’s definitely a baby one. ]

aw, those are adults? [ seriously, that first one had been big enough. he has to think of something to get them to go, maybe, the opposite way. if there is someone else there with him, he’s pretty sure they’ll be able to see these things, too, and that they’ll realize they have much more to worry about. ]

III. STASIS UNIT

[ it’s difficult walking in there. the first person he sees is just some generic lady, doesn’t even know her, and it’s already enough to make clint’s stomach twist. none of these people deserved this. it was one thing for people like him to get sucked into space catastrophes. he’s fought the bad guy plenty of times before. he knows how to save the day and stay alive, even if he ends up horribly banged up afterwards. it was just part of his life, no matter how futzed up it was. but -- but charlie? his neighbours from downstairs, who he risked life and limb for and would again?

that kid is way too pale. all of them are. they’re supposed to be alive, but clint knows what dead people look like.

maybe if he’d found anyone, literally anyone before his futzin’ neighbours, it’d have lessened the shock, just a little bit. (no, it wouldn’t have, barton, but it sure is nice to think about.) seeing cap or nighthawk or daredevil or even nat, that would’ve stung and probably made him puke. but this is just stone cold. clint wants to kick one of the pods, nearly does, but he doesn’t want to break anything.

he can’t help but feel like this is his fault. ]

sorry, kid. [ it’s just a murmur. ]

IV. WILDCARD

[ He's not here.

Then again, the stasis room is large and she's only halfway through so surely that's why she hasn't seen him yet. (Or so she tells herself; she doesn't know if it would be better or worse if he weren't here, because that might mean he's around but out of sight or it could mean—) She tries not to think about it, sealing away her emotions behind an iron door, like she had during the academy. During the war.

Instead, she focuses on those present, still alive and walking and capable, though most of them aren't in better spirits. Letting them all grieve in silence might be the polite thing to do but.....in this strange new world, perhaps it's better to seek some sort of companionship rather than stay lonely.

She speaks quietly, because even though she's seen her fair share of people both dead and dying, the sorrow that comes with seeing a child in one of the pods lessens not a whit. ]
