❪ test drive #3 ❫
YOUR STORY BEGINS ![]() The Storm came. You only remember darkness, but you don't remember much after that. All you know, perhaps, is that it was cold. You don't know for how long you slept, but the dreams were short, at least. You remember the expanse of stars and the universe that came in view. Every world and solar system ever known was displayed in your dreams in careful, pristine detail. You have also witnessed The Storm, which has devoured a fair portion of these galaxies. It was a dark, thick smog; ominous in appearance and ever foreboding. Your Earth and similar planets were immersed in The Storm. Somehow, you knew it would be the last you'd see of it. That was when she told you what happened, and how you can help. You knew that you'll be living somewhere new, even though you never asked for it. The details here weren't clear, but you knew you'd made a deal with Darma. Not long after, you'll wake at Thesa Station — Your body is still cold. It was all a dream, but somehow, you knew it wasn't — now, will you keep that promise you made to Darma? PROMPT: THE KITCHEN ![]() Ordinarily, Roman is more than happy to cook up whatever the refugees desire to eat on any particular day. Today, however, just as a new wave of people have started to wake up from their cryosleep, the Natha Orbiter "housekeeper" is nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, those who have just awoken haven't eaten in a long time, and while there are many ingredients in the Thesa kitchens, there isn't any prepared food to go around. Now's the time to find your inner chef. The kitchens on Thesa Station are open for public use, and every ingredient you can possibly think of (or have never seen before) is just a fridge or pantry door away. Perhaps you'd like to prepare a meal with a partner, or show off your skills to a newcomer. ... It is possible for things to go awry and set off the smoke alarms, though. Do you have what it takes, or are you a culinary disaster? PROMPT: TRAINING MODULES ![]() While it’s all nice and well to familiarize oneself with Thesa Station, it is most advised that new arrivals venture out a bit. Not physically. No one is quite prepared for that yet. However, there will be several virtual reality training programs set for those who dare to be adventurous. For those who aren’t and don’t dare, well— good luck, all the same. Once seated and appropriately strapped in, the system will automatically whir to life. 1. One of the newest programs installed by the Natha is one that simulates life just outside of Thesa Station. You're strapped into the cockpit of a mobile suit or a spaceship: take your pick. Perhaps it's even your own, from your home world. They know that the possibility of needing the refugee's help in space combat is inevitable, and they want everyone to be prepared. For now, there's no danger, and you are encouraged to have some fun with it. Enjoy it while you can. PROMPT: STASIS UNIT ![]() You have found the massive section of Thesa known as the Stasis Unit. There’s no special access required to access this part of Thesa Station, but refugees are warned that it may not be for the faint of heart. Here, in large pods that nearly cover every square inch of the space, are all of the people the Orbiters have managed to rescue. Your loved ones, your greatest enemy, your next door neighbor— you might find them here. These people are in a state of deep cryosleep. Due to the damaging effects of The Storm, their bodies are not yet ready to be awoken. PROMPT: OMAGE
Upon receiving your mobile phone, you will be asked to set a username. Voila, you can now access the network! You can choose to send a message to the entire network, specific usernames, or you can try out the Orbiters’ service, Omage, which connects you to a random user. They thought this might be a good way for their new guests to make friends with each other...

reign fear | blood bank
[ Reign had earlier stopped by his father's, and despite the way the older man had treated him in the past, Reign wished he could talk to him. But now he stood in front of a particular pod, a gloved hand pressed against the thick glass, as if he could reach out and touch his dear friend. The back of his eyes prickled, but he wouldn't let those tears fall. He'd promised himself that, and yet Reign couldn't stop a stray one from sliding down his cheek.
His gaze moved towards the dark haired man beside his friend's pod, glaring in warning that should anything happen to Shell, he'll hold him accountable. Not like the human could see or feel, but the point was made.
Hearing approaching footsteps, Reign hastily wiped his tears away, plastering a hopefully friendly smile on his face. ]
Here to visit a friend?
ii - the kitchen
a) [ Once that was done, the first order of the day for Reign was to find food. Specifically, blood. Preferably human blood. Whatever worries still plaguing his mind could wait until he'd properly eaten. So he made a beeline straight for the kitchen, his hunger gnawing at him like an insistent churning in his stomach, making him weak in the knees. The moment he reached the kitchen, Reign grabbed onto the arm of the first person he came across, a pleading in his voice. ]
Bl-blood. I need blood...
b) [ When his hunger had been satiated, Reign was back to his chipper self, flitting across the kitchen and glancing over the shoulders of those who were cooking. Finally, he stopped at one in particular, his tone full of curiosity. ]
What are you making?

hello
yes
don't know, wouldn't be surprised if there were
no.
[Well, that's...blunt. It's also hiding a lot of confusion: vampires?! There are vampires here now, of all things? Lovely.]
no subject
was wondering if there are other vampires not from my world.
are you human?
no subject
"Other" vampires. So you're one yourself?
And yes.
[Please don't ask him for a sample. He's grubby.]
no subject
that's correct!
i guess that's a given.
makes me wonder what other non-human or non-vampire species there are.
[ Reign just might, if he was hungry and desperate enough. After all, human blood was more potent than animal blood. But he'll ask nicely first! ]

[ both ears twitch in irritation. he's hungry too, but he's not acting like a toothless pup who can't hunt his own meals like this guy is. ]
Blood sounds pretty good, but I don't think you're just gonna find some lying around. You have to earn it!
[ he gently taps Reign's arm, tail already starting to curl due to some growing apprehension... ]
no subject
He finally glanced up, noticing those strange ears for the first time, before he felt the tap on his arm. He instantly release his hold, not wanting to offend the... man? Wolf-man? Creature-man? ]
Aren't those provided already? I just need to find it. But everything looks so...
[ He glanced around, the kitchen familiar yet also alien at the same time with its advanced technology. ]
Wouldn't mind helping someone in need, would you?
[ Reign even smiled a bit, though it also revealed his sharp fangs at the same time. ]
no subject
still! Reign is clearly NOT a bat. he looks like a human? maybe? and he certainly let go pretty quickly, so. maybe he's okay. ]
Sure. [ a shrug, as his attention went toward the rest of the pristine, complicated-looking machines. ] I'm sure we can find something. Worst case scenario, I could probably go find some kind of bandit, right? There's probably a ton of them around here!
Have you looked anywhere yet?
no subject
He chuckled sheepishly, relieved that this person wasn't going to lash out at him. Besides, he was currently too weak to do so. Even if he used his pheromones to get Keaton to do as he order, he wasn't certain it'll work well. ]
If the bandit is human, then all the better.
[ A shake of his head. ] Not yet. I just got here. Will you lend me a hand?

Yes... A few of them, hopefully.
[There were still some he hadn't found yet, in spite of prolonged searching. He wasn't actively looking anymore, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't still hoping to come across them by chance.
He offered the stranger a soft smile, half sympathetic, half self-deprecating.]
Every time I tell myself I won't come here anymore, but it just doesn't feel right to ignore everybody, even if they are asleep.
no subject
[ Whoever that the young man was looking for, Reign hoped that he'd either found them, or would soon enough. This place was so huge that it was a wonder Reign managed to find Shell.
He chuckled at the response, soft and wry. ]
It can't be helped. We all miss them dearly. Do you think they would feel the same if our positions are switched? Would they wait for us like we're doing now?
[ At the back of his mind, Reign knew his friend would. He couldn't say the same for his father though. ]
no subject
Somehow, it managed to be the person who it hurt him the most not to see. But maybe he would have felt the same if it had been someone else he couldn't find...]
They would. I'm sure of it.
[Well... Some more than others, certainly, but Atsushi would be honored with so much as a passing thought. It was more than enough.]
... Have you been able to find who you were looking for?
[Maybe he was very subtly trying to get the man to open up, but there was no obligation to answer, of course. Atsushi just thought that it didn't help to keep things bottled up. That was his experience, at least.]
no subject
[ Reign threw a small smile in the other's direction, somewhat comforted by the young man's words.
The question made him pause, but then it was quite obvious that Reign had found the person he was looking for, seeing he was standing right in front of this pod and shedding a tear. His smile turned wider as he gestured to the blond-haired man within the pod. ]
Yes! I've found my best friend, Shell, and... [ His gloved hand pointed reluctantly to a dark-haired man right beside, his smile dropping a notch. ] Um, him. [ It wasn't surprising that the both of them were side by side, inseparable as lovers. ]

I can read this, yes! Hello!
I'm not a vampire, sadly. Are you??
mon~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nonetheless, at least someone was willing to chat. Yay! ]
excellent!
oh. sadly indeed.
yes, i'm a vampire.
have you heard of them?
seen any of them?
maybe in this station thing?
oh hello...
they can be old men together at least??? ]
Oh I've read dozens of stories about them!
Some of them are my favorite, though some get a little too scary for my taste. Hehe.
I've never met a real one before though, not even here.
Are you searching for your friends? I can help you look if you like!
[ oh boy oh boy... a real life vampire! monday is beside himself. ]

At least you latched onto someone who seems as concerned you're expiring before his eyes as he is alarmed, Reign. ]
Heh?! [ Surely he misheard. DO YOU MEAN THAT YOU'RE BLEEDING/INJURED, OR..... ]
Did you say — blood...?
no subject
Don't scream. Vampires had sensitive hearing. This close, it nearly deafened Reign. ]
Yes... Blood.
[ Reign glanced up with a dead eyed look, his face shockingly pale. The next word that came out of his mouth would surely send anyone running for their lives, especially if they could spot the sharp fangs peeking out. ]
H-hungry...
no subject
Allen's smile hangs a bit.. lopsided at that last part. ]
Sorry?
[ Is this happening? This is actually happening. Didn't we establish real vampires don't actually exist??! ]

Until he catches what the other was mumbling about.]
Ah? Huh? Blood? Are you. Are you some sort of method actor? Not all of us are in on the script, y'know!
no subject
Reign glanced up to a shock of pale hair, trying to understand what the other man was saying. But all he could think about was sating his hunger. It wasn't that extreme, really. Still, waking up after such a long sleep could do that to anyone, vampire or not. ]
Not. Actor. V-vampire... Give me... blood.
[ If he remembered correctly, the Orbiters had mentioned something about providing synthetic blood for beings like him. ]
no subject
Vampire? What like.... Like a regular Dracula?
[There is doubt in his voice, and he squints at this ridiculous sort of claim.]
And next you'll turn into a bat and make a nest in my hair, is that it? Huh?
[Unfortunately, the owner of such a thick arm also possessed a woefully thick skull.]

[Nope, no blood there - so uh....]
Ehm. I-- [His brow is knit in worry for the stranger, but he's not certain of what questions to ask.] Of what sort?
no subject
He glanced up to look into the face of a white-haired man in a hooded cloak. At least it seemed this person was trying to be helpful. ]
...human blood.
[ Or the synthetic one he'd been told about, but the term slipped his mind at the moment. ]
no subject
[To a vampire, in any case, his blood might smell odd - almost human, but different, resting in the uncanny valley as blood goes. Part of it might almost seem like a dragon wearing a human guise, but parts of it are entirely human, too. Odd!]
Ehm. Ah. Are we talking, erm, a whole-- [a few grand, wild gestures with his hands] --a whole human's worth? Or just a bit? [Part of him sympathizes - he's from a species that can breathe the life force into, or out of, other things - but uh]
[don't kill him, broseph]
