❪ test drive #3 ❫
YOUR STORY BEGINS ![]() The Storm came. You only remember darkness, but you don't remember much after that. All you know, perhaps, is that it was cold. You don't know for how long you slept, but the dreams were short, at least. You remember the expanse of stars and the universe that came in view. Every world and solar system ever known was displayed in your dreams in careful, pristine detail. You have also witnessed The Storm, which has devoured a fair portion of these galaxies. It was a dark, thick smog; ominous in appearance and ever foreboding. Your Earth and similar planets were immersed in The Storm. Somehow, you knew it would be the last you'd see of it. That was when she told you what happened, and how you can help. You knew that you'll be living somewhere new, even though you never asked for it. The details here weren't clear, but you knew you'd made a deal with Darma. Not long after, you'll wake at Thesa Station — Your body is still cold. It was all a dream, but somehow, you knew it wasn't — now, will you keep that promise you made to Darma? PROMPT: THE KITCHEN ![]() Ordinarily, Roman is more than happy to cook up whatever the refugees desire to eat on any particular day. Today, however, just as a new wave of people have started to wake up from their cryosleep, the Natha Orbiter "housekeeper" is nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, those who have just awoken haven't eaten in a long time, and while there are many ingredients in the Thesa kitchens, there isn't any prepared food to go around. Now's the time to find your inner chef. The kitchens on Thesa Station are open for public use, and every ingredient you can possibly think of (or have never seen before) is just a fridge or pantry door away. Perhaps you'd like to prepare a meal with a partner, or show off your skills to a newcomer. ... It is possible for things to go awry and set off the smoke alarms, though. Do you have what it takes, or are you a culinary disaster? PROMPT: TRAINING MODULES ![]() While it’s all nice and well to familiarize oneself with Thesa Station, it is most advised that new arrivals venture out a bit. Not physically. No one is quite prepared for that yet. However, there will be several virtual reality training programs set for those who dare to be adventurous. For those who aren’t and don’t dare, well— good luck, all the same. Once seated and appropriately strapped in, the system will automatically whir to life. 1. One of the newest programs installed by the Natha is one that simulates life just outside of Thesa Station. You're strapped into the cockpit of a mobile suit or a spaceship: take your pick. Perhaps it's even your own, from your home world. They know that the possibility of needing the refugee's help in space combat is inevitable, and they want everyone to be prepared. For now, there's no danger, and you are encouraged to have some fun with it. Enjoy it while you can. PROMPT: STASIS UNIT ![]() You have found the massive section of Thesa known as the Stasis Unit. There’s no special access required to access this part of Thesa Station, but refugees are warned that it may not be for the faint of heart. Here, in large pods that nearly cover every square inch of the space, are all of the people the Orbiters have managed to rescue. Your loved ones, your greatest enemy, your next door neighbor— you might find them here. These people are in a state of deep cryosleep. Due to the damaging effects of The Storm, their bodies are not yet ready to be awoken. PROMPT: OMAGE
Upon receiving your mobile phone, you will be asked to set a username. Voila, you can now access the network! You can choose to send a message to the entire network, specific usernames, or you can try out the Orbiters’ service, Omage, which connects you to a random user. They thought this might be a good way for their new guests to make friends with each other...
Connecting to server... PROMPT: WILDCARD
You are welcome to write any scenarios in Thesa Station! Characters have been granted temporary access to the Observation Room, and are encouraged to study it carefully.

i look forward to it. [sort of.] i didnt quite expect my first conversation with a vampire to be so...courteous.
no subject
if that's what you're worried about, rest assure that i'm unlike my brethren.
but if any of them were to one day wake, i suggest you stay far, far away from them.
no subject
I doubt they'd be the only things I'd have to worry about here, but i'll follow that advice. i assume this means they're not quite as eager to be as friendly as you.
no subject
ah, that's true.
with so many humans here, they might lose control.
oh, but shell is nice! he's friendly!
you'll like him!
no subject
Shell, is it? Is he awake, then?
[Two vampires. Oh, boy.]
no subject
no, he isn't.
i wish he was, but i'll wait for him.
[ Though he wish Shell's human lover would forever stay asleep. HAH!
Not really, because that would make his friend sad.]my father is still asleep too.
though i've yet to find shell's.
[ Dun dun dun... More vampires! ]
no subject
[It's sad, isn't it?]
honestly, i'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.
no subject
if not, they can find you when they wake, yes?
[ At least it was a small condolence to know that their respective world wasn't the only one that went through that apocalypse? ]
i miss him, but it's better that he continues to sleep.
better if all vampires like us are asleep.
[ Because otherwise, the humans in the station and on Nysa Island were in danger of being attacked, their blood drained dry. ]
no subject
[Even if you know yourself how dangerous it was...even if Yusei was in those same shoes, he'd say the same thing in a heartbeat...condemning yourself and your kin like that.]
even if you say it's better, just to stay asleep like that...
no subject
vampires like us are a danger to humans.
i don't know how many of us are here.
granted, not all of us are like that.
but better to be safe than sorry.
no subject
this may be hypocritical of me to say, after being so wary before
but i don't think anything should be forced to not exist
or in this case, stay asleep, i suppose
no subject
It took Reign a while to reply, those words resonating in him. ]
you're right.
everyone deserves a second chance.
maybe this will finally make them realise and open up their mind.
no subject
everything has a reason to exist, i think. no one should be told that they're unneeded
although even if they open up their minds, they still need blood, don't they?
or is it something they can moderate.
no subject
that's correct.
but i'm told we're provided synthetic blood.
not as good as human blood.
we can consume animal blood too, but it's not as sustaining.
i'm told by someone there are possible donors at the red light district.
maybe.
no subject
are probably people into that kind of thing.
[He doesn't really get it, but he's heard of weird things getting done in Satellite's Red District back home. He wouldn't be surprised if somebody in Olympia's or Wyver's red light district would be into getting sucked off or something. Probably Wyver, those wild fucks.]
but if there's means for you to get by, i'm glad. and if you find willing donors, that's all the better.
no subject
it's hard to wrap around the fact that anyone would enjoy a vampire drinking from them.
something about being erotic.
[ Not that Reign ever got the chance to witness it. His next text had a teasing tone, but it was hard to tell when you don't know how to use emojis. ]
are you volunteering to be a willing donor?
no subject
[There were a lot of them in Satellite, so apparently they were considered exceedingly trashy. He's not inclined t find out.
That being said, he's also self-sacrificial to a fault, and he's also not that good at reading tone off of text.]
if you need it, then i'd be willing.
[and that's...an honest answer. huh.]
no subject
[ Reign may not be a bookworm, but he didn't mind doing a bit of research. It was something he was used to.
The response was a bit surprising, for he had expected Yusei to be hesitant about it. Humans usually did in his world. ]
really????
i guess when i really do need some, i'll contact
call
chat
text
you again.
thank you.
it means a lot to me.
no subject
[This might be one of those cases where fiction is stranger than reality.]
you're welcome.
i hope this will give you a little more peace of mind, in this new place.
[it's funny, isn't it? yusei insists that nothing in this world is worthless. and yet that belief never seems to apply to himself. he's all too willing to give up part of himself if that's what's needed. even his own life. what an odd boy.]
no subject
perhaps you had a steamy encounter there?
[ Once again pulling Yusei's leg. But he'll stop for now. ]
it has indeed.
there is much to learn, but talking with you helped.
it's been a pleasure knowing you!
[ In fact, should the chance arose, Reign would like to meet Yusei in person. ]
no subject
[This is a bluff. He has none to share because he's that boring.]
I'm glad for that. Our group...we pretty much had to find our way here mostly on our own with what help Darma and the others could give us. So, we should pass that experience on, I think. I hope others can do the same for you, too.
[Before now, Yusei's not entirely sure he would have been inclined to meet a vampire. Now he can safely say he's at least interested.]
no subject
[ Reign will just use his imaginations! He had plenty of them! ]
i'm sure there are others who are helpful like you.
baring that, i can always ask you again.
have a nice day!
[ Humans were an interesting lot. He could see why his friend found them so fascinating. ]
