YOUR STORY BEGINS     The Storm came. You remember darkness, but you don't remember much after that. You don't know how long you slept, but the dreams were short. You remember the expanse of stars and galaxies in your direct view. Every world and solar system ever known to man was present in your dreams in careful, pristine detail. You also witnessed the Storm, which has devoured a fair portion of these galaxies. Your Earth and similar planets were assimilated by the Storm. Somehow, you knew it would be the last you'd see of your world. That was when she told you what happened. You knew that you'd be living somewhere new. The details weren't clear, but you knew it was a part of a deal with the entity known as Darma. Not long after, you'll wake at Thesa Station. Your body is still cold; it all felt like a dream, but somehow, you knew it wasn't — We were mistaken to think we should not intervene. Dangers far beyond what should exist on this planet lurk beyond even our sight. Poor Ysverai's resurrection is only a portent of what threatens this world. El Nysa must remain frozen in time until we have found a way to repair the damage the High Dragon has wrought. But repair it we will. We give you this promise. We are sorry for leaving you in your time of need. There was greater danger, or so we thought. The Storm, for the first time, had somehow encroached beyond our shields. Blinded to what was occurring on the planet, we believed it safe to turn our sight from the planet… Safe to leave our physical forms entirely, for we needed the energy to ward off the Storm. We withdrew ourselves from our aspect that we call Thesa, and in doing so left you vulnerable. We can only hope you will forgive us. Still, we must ask your aid, for both your sake, and for all life on this fragile planet. Please, leave the matter of Ysverai's curse in our hands. Ready yourselves to journey to Nadril and find how the High Dragon's resurrection was hidden from our sight. We will do all in our power to repair El Nysa, but you should prepare yourselves well. We fear there is yet greater danger ahead, both from the Storm and from what lies obscured on the planet. CLEAN-UP CREW     While everything has wound down significantly from the strife and destruction of battle, the frozen image of Ysverai, the massive, rotten dragon, and the hole he tore in El Nysa's sky, on several screens of the station is a constant reminder of what took place. New and old refugees alike will notice that prolonged exposure to these images will leave them with a disquiet that gradually builds to actual pain. The discomfort starts from a crawling sensation, insects over skin, and gradually becomes unbearable. They will begin to hear the cries of Ysverai’s pain and suffering, first whispers, then echoes, then wails. Even after Refugees tear their eyes away from this footage, a strange itching sensation remains beneath their skin for several minutes. The dragon isn’t a matter for them to deal with, however. Darma made it clear that the Natha will find a solution. For now, everyone is encouraged to assist in the clean-up of the cities currently frozen in time. However, in interest of the current events and the fact that the refugees still have much to prepare for, they will be offering this help remotely. Several stations are set up where refugees can remote control drones to map out areas and pick up some of the lighter weight debris. Those more well versed technology are encouraged to assist those who may be having trouble getting started with the unfamiliar Natha tech. It seems like it’ll definitely take some getting used to, though. On the bright side, they’re pretty durable drones so if at first you don’t succeed, press the next button? To keep morale high during the clean-up efforts, one of the Natha have set up large hoops around dumpsites and a scoreboard program in the control room, though there's no sign of any directions or rules to be found. That's right, you can play a mechanized version of… some sort of game while you're helping clean up El Nysa. Just make sure you don't get too carried away with competitive spirit! For those looking to pilot something more heavy-duty, there are also cockpits set up for remote control piloting of basic mecha. These are very similar to the VR simulations offered on the station. However, they will not work without a partner. To be able to successfully move one of these, two refugees will be required to connect their minds and pilot in tandem. This may be a daunting task, but with the extensive structural damage to the cities, it's a necessary one. Piloting will require trust and cooperation to make it through. The more connected the pilots are, the more agile and powerful their mecha will be. For those who can’t seem to get on the same page, coordination will be a pipe dream. PROBLEMS WITH THE SHIP     By now it’s likely clear to all refugees, new and old, that for all that they may appear to be infinitely powerful, the Natha Orbiters have been shaken by the recent events on El Nysa. The details of Ysverai’s revival were somehow obscured from their view, and while they’re focusing their efforts on the planet, certain… abnormalities again begin to arise on Thesa Station. The most prevalent of the problems plaguing the Station are the malfunctioning doors. Walking through a door that should lead to a bedroom or kitchen (or, for the truly unfortunate, a toilet) will suddenly take refugees somewhere entirely different and possibly even new. And while this may lead to some accusations of breaking and entering, at least these mishaps can be quickly rectified by an apology and a hasty exit. That is, unless the door refuses to open again — the locks also seem to be malfunctioning. Still, those that find themselves transported somewhere familiar, though off-limits, should consider themselves lucky. Thesa Station is far more vast than most refugees are aware, and some of them might find themselves wandering into a uniquely sticky laboratory. This area appears to serve no purpose other than to house dozens of slimes. These slimes appear not only in a variety of fun colours, but with a variety of not-so-fun abilities ranging from harmless (spitting bubbles) to deadly (spitting fire). Regardless of what abilities a slime possesses however, they are all relentlessly friendly, and characters will need to be careful not to accidentally bringing one out with them once they manage to escape. Unfortunately, that’s not the only situation to escape from. Whether it’s in the mess hall or the bathroom, many will find themselves suddenly rising off the ground. … with everything else in the room, too! It seems like gravity control is also on the fritz. Fortunately, most open spaces aboard the station have a small control panel that can correct these effects. The only problem is getting there. Hopefully at least one of you refugees took that anti-gravity safety course. SUMMER TURNS TO WINTER     The news that the refugees should begin preparations for a return to El Nysa may come as a surprise given that the planet still remains frozen, but it appears there is one community that has somehow withstood Darma’s intervention: an area known as Nadril where time continues to flow freely. Not much information is available regarding this destination, other than the fact that it is isolated, and, more importantly, that it is cold. (Maybe characters should consider the malfunctioning thermostat plunging the temperature to below zero in certain areas on the station as preparation for their upcoming journey!) There are other resources available for those itching to take action, of course. There will be a new supply pack delivered to each room containing gear meant to withstand freezing temperatures — both clothing and storage gear to keep water rations from freezing. Characters will also be alerted to new training programs available in the VR room that are designed to assist with survival in the snowy regions of Nadril. The training programs will consist of a variety of tutorials that will assist in winter survival. Naturally, there will be courses on how to start fires, find food, and build igloos to withstand the frigid temperatures, but that’s not all. Due to the Natha testing their systems, there will occasionally be strange occurrences. For example, refugees may experience a snowball or two pelting them from out of nowhere, or they may suddenly find themselves being cloaked by a snow yeti costume, amongst many other inconveniences. Hopefully that doesn’t detract from the lessons to be learned here, as some of the training programs can include extreme weather survival, including the perils of snow storms or avalanches. However, due to the nature of recent events, they will be asking some refugees to do a quick check on some of the pods in the stasis unit. While they are definitely looking for any damage that may have occurred over these past few weeks, they also seem interested in getting a deeper insight into some of the occupants. On each control panel for the pods, there's a new application, asking observers to add notes and commentary — the Natha are looking for a more personal understanding of their sleeping occupants. Refugees are tasked with providing evaluations of the sleepers, based on both their knowledge of those from their homes and on what they can observe just by examining them in their repose. The application asks for how useful you think the pod's occupant would be in a crisis, what their skills are, what their best feature is, if you'd take them with you for a long walk on the beach, and so on… And, of course, all answers must be recorded out loud. [ here's the thing. peter doesn't usually equate aliens with friendly (unless they're thor, obviously), but these little guys are so...cute? and most importantly, nothing's tripping his spider senses -- there's no prickle at the back of his neck, nothing shouting danger! beneath his perception. so when one slimes its way over his shoe and looks up at him expectantly, he...kneels down to get a better look. and also to poke it to see if it's as squishy as it looks, don't judge him you don't know his life!! the slime just blows bubbles at him, which makes him laugh. ]

[ now that he's closer to their height there are....more coming to congregate around him. one may or may not be stealthily sliming to sit atop his head; he doesn't seem to have noticed it. ]

[ here, peter's quiet. the room is too-loud, too-echo-y, and every step he takes seems to ring loudly and make him want to jump. but eventually, carefully walking down the pods (sorry, he murmurs to one when he nearly bumps into it, then another just because), he finds the people he knows. members of his decathlon team. other kids from school. ned. his aunt. his uncle, and his hands flinch away from the surface of that pod.

(he lingers, briefly. it feels too long. it feels not long enough.)

he even finds mr. stark, and that just makes his frown deepen.

what he wants to say is, i had the craziest dream about this alien lady talking about a dragon. what he's afraid of, is that that wasn't a dream at all, and neither is this, and -- god. he's a long way from home.

some hours in his future, he, and mr. stark, and the wizard will land on an alien planet. they'll meet a group of people who call themselves the guardians of the galaxy. peter may or may not ask mantis not to lay eggs in his chest, because it'll seem like a legitimate concern at the time.

for him, though, right now, this is the first time he's meeting her, and the first time he's ever seen a lady with...antennae? oh my god, she's an alien.

but there's still no -- sense of danger, of an attack coming. so she maybe comes in peace? man, he hopes she doesn't ask to meet his leader. he's not sure where he'd even direct her.

anyway, he probably shouldn't be, like, rude. is asking aliens if they're aliens rude? it seems like it probably would be. besides, maybe she's not an alien?? a slime, as though sensing his inner struggle, bops him in the arm. whether or not it is actually judging him may never be known. ]

Oh -- yeah, I guess so. Do know what these are? They're really friendly. [ one snuggles under his hand, which is kind of gross, and kind of adorable. ] Like -- really friendly.

[ A new wave of refugees has been roused from stasis and Peggy Carter ought to be out amongst the throng, searching for familiar faces. But with this forced holiday/retreat on the station comes a lot of free time and a lot of restlessness, which she's taken to channeling in different ways — often a round at the gym, even with her injured wrist (getting better with each day, thanks to the Pact that binds her to Steve Rogers and his supersoldier healing). She's back in the quarters she shares with Steve after one such session, having changed out of her sweaty things into something cleaner and distinctly more ~vintage~ as is her indulgence on Thesa without the prying eyes of Nysan society.

Her door wooshes open as she's putting on the final touches to her makeup, a tube of bright red lipstick held aloft as she turns to see who's come in. It's not Steve. (But the shield is leaning against one of the spare bunks in their room, a little worse for wear but unmistakeable.) ]

That's quite all right. [ She's frowning a little, mildly bewildered more than irritated. She glances back to the mirror hanging on the wall and finishes off her lipstick before capping the tube and turning her attention squarely on the young man who's waltzed right in. ] The station is still getting back on its feet and it seems its still got some wires crossed here and there. Are you lost?

he read about peggy carter in his history books. they listened to one of those old radio shows about cap and his lady in class, and michelle rolled her eyes and wrote an essay about sexism and agent carter's legacy. there's this terrible lifetime movie may loves, that they've watched on a million rainy days even though they mostly make fun of it. a lot of information about her went viral when black widow dumped SHIELD files on the internet. peter heard about it on the news when peggy died not too long ago, read her obituary online.

but she's here right now. and she's alive. and she's way, way younger than she'd ever been in peter's lifetime. and her voice sounds exactly like the recordings, and that's cap's shield behind her and oh my god, this is peggy carter. ]

You're -- oh my god. [ ned is going to be so jealous. (a beat later, his mind supplies: when he wakes up.) he sort of points at peggy, and then realizes that's rude and stops, and his hands sort of gesture vaguely. ] I mean -- yes. Yes! I'm lost. I have no idea where this is. Where I am. You're Peggy Carter, wow.

[ he managed to keep that in for a full thirty seconds. he tried™ ]

[ Bucky's lost in thought when Peter walks into him. It's more of a nudge, really, because Bucky's a solid wall of muscle with a metal arm and Peter is, well, none of that.

He puts his hand out to make sure Peter doesn't fall and it happens to be the metal one, but he hasn't tracked down any gloves yet, so there's really nothing to be done about that. Besides, there are aliens here. Who's going to notice a metal arm? ]

[ whatever he's about to say is lost when he catches himself (in part thanks to that steadying hand) and looks up and...it's the winter soldier. peter realizes two things pretty much simultaneously:

1) he remembers the winter soldier from berlin, and they fought and everything, but he's reasonably sure bucky barnes is a good guy despite all the crazy assassin stuff.

2) the winter soldier remembers spider-man, probably, not some kid with a cameraphone. ]

Um. [ he sort of double-takes, and blinks, and tries again. ] Oh, um, just -- it's just my phone. I was making a video.

[ he's trying hard to be cool, which means he pretty much looks like a deer in the headlights. ]

[ sometimes, Emma talks to them. most of the conversation is directed at Henry (because of course it is) and usually it's an update of what's going on in the world. fought another dragon, you should have seen this thing, or the pin's not my style, I think I'll save it for Regina.

but today, well, today she's standing by the pod of another important man in her life. he looks about her age, but there's a family resemblance that could give it away to anyone who was looking. the curse might have taken her parents away from her for most of her life, but the memories she has of their family being together are what hold her together her.

sometimes hope in her worst moments. sometimes she's grateful for it, others - it's unbearable, because they're close and still so far from being a family again.] You said we'd always find each other, Dad. I'm right he--

[ and then she notices him (how could she miss him, he's a teenage boy), and anything she might've said ends there. he's just a kid, young and awkward and afraid he's made someone else uncomfortable in a place where everyone is uncomfortable.

he's new, isn't he? crap.] No, don't. I just didn't realize there was anyone else around.

[ he offers, a little shy. it's easy to see familiar faces in the pods and tune everything else out, anyway, and easier still in a room as big as this one. he still hasn't walked it end to end yet, though he lost motivation for that when he found his own familiar faces. he might try a quick swing around the place sometime when he's alone in here, isn't in so much danger of running into other people. ]

Wait, did you say that's your dad?

[ he asks, unable to help himself, peering a little at the pod. it's not that he means to pry, but even at a quick glance the dude had looked....not old enough to be emma's dad?? ]

[Riku has been standing by the pod of a blonde girl, muttering quietly to himself; even awake Naminé has always listened when he was troubled and well… the past week was very troubling indeed. (He wishes she was awake. He wishes she could advise him somehow, even if he has no idea what she would say. No matter what she is, no matter what she’s done… Naminé has always seemed to understand him, and the burden of his guilt… maybe exactly because she carries one of her own.)

His head turns sharply when he hears someone else speak up, a guy, maybe a little younger than him? After considering Peter for a moment, he shakes his head.]

It’s fine. I was done here anyway.

[Even if he hadn’t been… the sleeping always forgive one paying attention to those woken instead. Speaking of…]

You were just woken, weren’t you?

[He knows that look after all.]

[ peter's tempted to ask if it's that obvious, but -- riku's not wrong, and it probably is obvious. peter has only just woken up, still doesn't exactly know what to do with himself. ]

Yeah, [ he admits, hands twisting together briefly. then he realizes what he's doing and stuffs them in his pockets. ] Just, like, today. [ then -- ] I'm Peter.

[ if not for the hair, nat (suited up in black and cool greys) might blend in with the metallic scenery. her footsteps are light, but peter likely would have heard them, if he hadn’t been preoccupied with the stasis pod containing her friend (and former teammate, she reminds herself, chest aching). for now, the avengers remain fractured.

her mouth curves into a slight smile, tinged with sadness. she doesn’t bother to hide it. ]

[ she steps forward, beside peter. he’s young. there could be any reason for his lingering here. ]

[ lowering her voice to something borderline conspiratorial — ] Looks a little less smug this way, doesn’t he?

[ it's a real relief to see natasha honestly, as much as a part of him would way rather see his aunt or a friend up and about; natasha's an avenger, she's the black widow, she's got to have this, in some way, covered.

(he remembers, belatedly: you're an avenger now. it's not that he forgot, exactly, but there's just been -- a lot's happened.)

he opens his mouth and closes it when she says she could use the company -- she doesn't know him, he remembers as he does with pretty much everyone from his world around here -- and then nods, his open awe tamped down by their surroundings.

at her question, though, he can't help a laugh -- a little bit of a nervous one, but also familiar. he knows what she's talking about, who they're talking about, is familiar enough to get the joke. ]

I mean, I wouldn't say -- [ wait, oops. he's just an ex-intern of stark industries, as far as anyone's concerned. CLEARS HIS THROAT. ] That! That I know. I haven't met him before. I've just seen -- you know, the news and stuff.

[She gestures with a hand and shakes her head a little. It always seems somehow incredibly sad once you actually talk about the weird thing that they all do here. Going and looking at the people they care about trapped in tubes, in that perfect icy stillness. Tony was awake, and now he's not, Sana was still quiet and safe, but in a way that always felt so very vulnerable.

She shakes her head a little sadly, her eyes lingering on Tony's tube for a moment before she looks over to Peter, her lips thinning a little.] They're not going anywhere. I just like to make sure once in a while.

[And Ava was good with faces. She feels like she should probably offer him her name or ask for his or something, but there's always something strange about meeting people here. It was so large and it was both so empty and so filled with people and there was so much energy, but nothing changed, not really. And this wasn't even all of them, not all the people the Natha had saved. It was hard to wrap your head around, sometimes.]

The gravity failing doesn't phase her all that much, to be honest, just earns an irritated tsk from her as she finds her feet suddenly lifting off the deck. Fortunately, moving in three dimensions isn't that much of a tall order for her at this point and it's easy to flip herself upright.

She burns steel, Pushing outwards in multiple directions against the metal deck to stall her movement and keep from drifting aimlessly. Instead, she just sort of... hangs there in the middle of the hallway.]

Hm? [And that's when she notices the boy there, clinging to the floor with just his fingertips. She blinks, tilts her head a little.] How are you doing that?

[ the little slime in peter's hoodie placidly floats free, rolling through the air both silently and slowly. it doesn't seem too alarmed by the situation, which is more than peter can really say. to be fair, zero-g would seem way more awesome if it weren't suddenly sprung on peter. he's definitely always wanted the experience, just...you know.

he looks over when he hears a girl's voice, alarmed at just giving himself away like that, but she's....definitely doing something too?? at least, she's not just floating around like the where-did-that-slime-come-from. ]

[ the moment she hears that the place they'll be going is supposed to be very cold, Sansa feels excited despite the unknown and the horror that is past them, now — Olympia was more akin to the north, and yet she longs for winter, for snow, for her breath leaving puffs in the air in the cold.

and so she prepares: in her rooms there are still the cloaks and heavy dresses she had from Winterfell and left behind as they were too heavy on the planetside, and those she starts to line with furs, making them heavier, warmer.

she's in the middle of embroidering a very nice, silvery wolf's head on the back of a cloak as the door opens suddenly and a boy some years younger than her barges in.

(hopefully Peter ignores the way she suddenly grips the needle like she's about to hurl it at him despite the inefficiency of such a movement, how she subtly inches towards the gun she has stashed underneath her pillow.) ]

[This is familiar. As in, it's not the first time she's caught a young person staring into their phone, only the last one was about to take a photo. She sees easily that he's left his on the photos that move continuously. There is a lot to see, however, and perhaps he doesn't notice her immediately, appearing in the corner of the screen behind him, not far from his periphery, her furry white head canted in question.

Or it could be just as well that he does, and that they do nearly collide before those reflexes of his keep him from stumbling over her, while she bounces once out of the way, giving him an admonishing sneeze. He should be more careful. What if he had fallen off the edge of something and badly hurt himself?

She can't voice this, obviously, but she grumbles all the same. Not timid about giving her complaints, while she steps to move in front of him instead. She doesn't stand in his way, but she's plainly curious about him, stretching neck out with wiggling nose to see if he'll allow her closer.]
