YOUR STORY BEGINS ![]() The Storm came. You only remember darkness, but you don't remember much after that. All you know, perhaps, is that it was cold as you slept. You don't know for how long you slept, but the dreams were short, at least. You remember the expanse of stars and the universe that came in view. Every world and solar system ever known was displayed in your dreams in careful, pristine detail. You have also witnessed The Storm, which has devoured a fair portion of these galaxies. It was a dark, thick smog; ominous in appearance and ever foreboding. Your Earth and similar planets were immersed in The Storm. Somehow, you knew it would be the last you'd see of it. That was when she told you what happened, and how you can help. You knew that you'll be living somewhere new, even though you never asked for it. The details here weren't clear, but you knew you'd made a deal with Darma. Not long after, you'll wake at Thesa Station — Your body is still cold. It was all a dream, but somehow, you knew it wasn't — now, will you keep that promise you made to Darma? PROMPT: THE MESS HALL ![]() It's fascinating to the Orbiters how such a dull room can be turned around so completely with people in it. All meals are served by Roman, and while all the food is delicious, some of it is a bit odd. Is that neon green soup? That’s hideous. If you happen to be in the mess hall at a particularly unlucky time, you and the food will suddenly begin to drift. Someone’s got jokes, and they’ve turned off the gravity control. Now it’s just you, your fellow refugees, and the floating sea of food. Wait, did that person just chuck a pie in your direction? PROMPT: TRAINING MODULES ![]() While it’s all nice and well to familiarize oneself with Thesa Station, it is most advised that new arrivals venture out a bit. Not physically. No one is quite prepared for that yet. However, there will be several virtual reality training programs set for those who dare to be adventurous. For those who aren’t and don’t dare, well— good luck, all the same. Be advised, however, that participating in one of the training modules will start you off favorably with the Natha Orbiters’ in terms of REPUTATION. Once seated and appropriately strapped in, the system will automatically whir to life and the dense foliage and forestry of a section of El Nysa will open up. According to one’s map registry, it clear to see that it’s miles from the outer gates of Olympia, but not as far enough to venture into any other territories. So, in that sense, you’re safe.
PROMPT: STASIS UNIT ![]() You have found the massive section of Thesa known as the Stasis Unit. There’s no special access required to access this part of Thesa Station, but refugees are warned that it may not be for the faint of heart. Here, in large pods that nearly cover every square inch of the space, are all of the people the Orbiters have managed to rescue. Your loved ones, your greatest enemy, your next door neighbor— you might find them here. These people are in a state of deep cryosleep. Due to the damaging effects of The Storm, their bodies are not yet ready to be awoken. PROMPT: HANGAR STATION ![]() You find your way to the hangar station. Here rests are a factory worth of docked mobile suits. You recall how the Orbiters had previously spoken of a "space frontier," but only after seeing this you realize how real their words are. Most machinery have marks of wear and tear, assurance that they have indeed been used before, and an assembly of others are going through repairs and maintenance. No one seems to care that you've just strolled in. In fact, there seems to be a couple of the aircraft that beckon you to take a closer look. Maybe you’ll only look on the outside, maybe you'll be greeted by the hand of a mobile suit extending toward you and welcoming you to its cockpit. You go out and explore SPACE!!! Unfortunately, that mobile suit should have warned you it only had 20 minutes of flight time left in its system. Or, perhaps, you’re a particularly ambitious pilot and you’ve strayed past the designated perimeter. Either way, the HUD display is now blinking with errors, cropping up with a single message: DISTRESS SIGNAL. PROMPT: OMAGE
Upon receiving your mobile phone, you will be asked to set a username. Voila, you can now access the network! You can choose to send a message to the entire network, specific usernames, or you can try out the Orbiters’ service, Omage, which connects you to a random user. They thought this might be a good way for their new guests to make friends with each other...
Connecting to server... PROMPT: WILDCARD
You are welcome to write any scenarios in Thesa Station! Characters have been granted temporary access to the Observation Room, and are encouraged to study it carefully.
FINAL OOC NOTE

[ Steve shifts his gaze from the pods that surround them, with their sleeping faces and most of them still unclaimed, and offers the woman a smile - small and slight but heartfelt. Her offer to help isn't something he'd expect of a complete stranger, but it's a genuine gesture that very nearly works like a balm in a cold place like this. Small acts of kindness can go a long way; he would know because he's been encourage them himself for years.
He offers his hand. ]
I'm Steve.
no subject
handshakes aren't exactly the amazon way, yet Diana has seen enough of them now to understand the offering. she takes his hand in return, her grasp firm. there's an obvious hint of nostalgia and fondness on her face as he mentions his name. ) A good name. ( a name she's missing, though she has yet to locate his face scattered through these sad halls. ) I am Diana of Themyscira. We are well met, Steve.
oh my god i messed up a tense in my last tag how did i not notice that ... gomen
[ Steve returns, nodding. She has a good grip, all no-nonsense and confident to match the certainty in her words. He likes her. In a way, she reminds him a little of another no-nonsense, confident woman whom he used to know once. That life feels like a distant dream at this point, what with the end of the world, the Storm, and the Orbiters filling his mind and his thoughts these days. ]
Can't say I've ever heard of Themyscira. But I'm sorry the Storm took it away.
i didn't even notice!!!
We will defeat this darkness, Steve, and then what has been lost to us will be returned. I believe that quite strongly. ( that's true of both Themyscira and whatever world he had left behind, as well. she nods, almost as if she's trying to convince herself at the same time. she has to keep her confidence from faltering, the consequences of giving up would be catastrophic, even if she is the only amazon sent to do the work of her entire people.
she touches his arm, gently. ) Let us walk together. Who are we looking for?
THANK GOODNESS bc i sound rull dumb
Even if he doesn't have a whole lot of hope that their worlds can be brought back after the supposed destruction, destruction he doesn't even remember, he'd like to think that there is a chance that he might see his Earth again one day.
Who knew he'd actually miss Time Square at two o'clock in the afternoon on a weekend? Oh, the times are a changin'.
In any case, Diana's gentle touch shakes him out of his reverie, gets him to refocus his thoughts on the matters at hand. His friends. His teammates. Somewhere amongst these rows and rows of pods, they've got to be here.
For now, he starts with one name: ]
A friend. A good friend. His name is Bucky.
NEVER you are one of the smartest ladies i know bb
which, admittedly, won't be easy... but she's determined to do all she can to accomplish it, anyway.
as they begin their walk, Diana lets her hand fall back to her side, under the fabric of her cloak. ) Bucky. ( she nods slightly, wrapping the odd name around her tongue as she practices it. ) Tell me of this friend, Steve. How would I recognize him?
you're so kind ;; u kno i think the world of u too <3
[ There's a lot Steve can say about Bucky, about the way he used to remember him and the way he'd gotten to know him now. So much had changed beyond the physical; what had Bucky been through before their confrontation on the freeway? What had HYDRA done to him in those missing years of Steve's life?
Steve will never forget the way Bucky had always been his aspiration: taller, darker, better looking. Easy-going, smooth with the women, a man with a good heart, clever, able to get them both out of scrapes more often than not - especially when it was Steve who got into a good deal of them.
He still thinks the world of him, even though there are times when they feel like strangers.
He takes a breath. The length of his hair probably isn't enough of a descriptor. ]
His hair's dark and it falls around his face.
Missing an arm.
wrap on yours maybe?
she is silent, walking beside him and waiting for him to battle with his thoughts. there is no need to push him, and instead she waits.
the idea of losing an arm is one that makes her heart beat a little heavier. that is quite an injury to suffer, she'd seen many amputations and lost and severed limbs in the short time she'd spent traveling to the front line. even without meeting this Bucky (yet), her heart bleeds for him. ) If he is here, Steve, we will find him. ( her promise is easy and effortless, as if she intends to look through every pod until he's found.
because she does. )
👍👍
That's the first word that comes to mind when he thinks of this perfect stranger, someone who is willing to help without even knowing who Steve is or where he comes from. There's something about her boundless optimism, that tenacious hope that ... well, it gives him hope too. Hope even if he'd never really asked for it.
He nods, grateful. Her strength gives him strength. ]
Thanks, Diana. You know, that actually means a lot.
[ And so they'll continue to walk amongst rows and rows of sleeping pods in search of Bucky Barnes, talking a little. They won't find Bucky, of course, but that's only because he'll be wandering somewhere along the halls of this ship.
In the end, he'll have found Bucky and he'll have found someone who could be a strong ally and maybe a friend, too. ]
