[ lance's experience with animals definitely vary; growing up, he'd definitely been the type to bring home any animal he came across and beg for his parents to let him keep it, to varying degrees of success. he'd had a veritable menagerie of pets throughout the years, though as he'd grown older, and school drew him away, most of his (seemingly endless) energy turned towards his peers (particularly his female peers) instead.

still, he'll always have a soft spot for animals. and his time helping raise his younger siblings is certainly helping out with all this, too. ]
