What Bucky will find is that he really doesn't have to temper his speed much at all. 76 doesn't run at the speed of a normal human, and while he's on the older side, it doesn't seem to make a difference. He has the strength to run over the uneven snow at an unnatural speed, and if anything, he's shocked to find that the other man can keep up with him. It's not something he's used to.
They reach a line of trees, and 76 skids to a halt, positioning himself behind them. He's well aware that the avalanche will be strong enough to possibly uproot some of the trees here, but this at least gives them a vantage point to figure out where the snow is flowing. Worst come to worst, they can cling onto a tree trunk and hope for the best.
The avalanche crests over the top of the hill, and 76 can't stop the way that his stomach tenses and his hair stands on end as he watches it. There's something about being in the path of a natural disaster that sends every instinct into overdrive, but he breathes evenly and forces himself to remain calm and rational.
