[ Well she's not denying that something's actually going on with her and Steve. That's good, because he's not sure what he'd do if he found out that the world had basically ended, Steve had been given a second chance with Peggy and he'd just not taken it.

He can't help getting a little defensive about the... offer? It's not really an offer, though. It's an assumption and Bucky can't help feeling the sting of it, like no one really trusts him to be okay on his own.

You don't have to put me up on your sofa, Peggy. I'm a grown man. I can survive without sleeping in the same apartment as Steve.

[ Not that it doesn't sound nice after two years of running from everything completely by himself. Once he'd remembered enough to know he should, he'd missed Steve a lot. A lot. He'll definitely be sticking close to the both of them if they'll have him around, but he doesn't need to be there intruding on their space.

Part of him realizes that it's a dumb thought. He never would have seen Steve as a nuisance and he wouldn't have gotten serious with a woman who had. Still, he's not going to mess anything up for Steve's life more than he already had back on Earth.
