a. here a slime, there a slime, everywhere a slime-slime
[ After the initial near-incineration incident with one of the slimes, Cordelia has discovered that they're actually rather gentle and friendly. She knew those smiles couldn't have just been for show, though she still feels a little odd with all of them have congregated around her, staring at her with those giant slime eyes as though asking for food. What do slime even eat? She'd be happy to fix something for them, but she hasn't spotted a kitchen anywhere yet.
Too bad she didn't pack any provisions with her. Had she known she'd be brought here for a while, she would have prepared far better than this, but she feels so out of sorts. Few familiar faces and Aurora missing...
If anyone happens to be passing by, they'll find her with a slime on her head, one in her lap, another hanging about on her shoulder. The whole slime clan. ]
This is some mess we've gotten ourselves into. Come on, keep it together, Cordelia.
[ A sigh before she turns to face one of her new slime-friends. ]
I don't suppose any of you know a way back to Ylisse?
[ One slime gurgles and leaks a few bubbles out in front of her as if to express sympathy. Or maybe she's just hallucinating at this point. ]
b. and Kellam's body was never to be found...
[ Inside where the stasis unites are, Cordelia idly strolls through, brushing some of the dust off the glass and trying to peek in on whoever is inside. She thinks she sees someone familiar for a moment, a tell-tale brown mullet that she swears is Stahl's, but the face is all wrong. A scar where there shouldn't be. Definitely no one she's crossed paths with. Is it simply wishful thinking?
Near her, another body lies dormant. Mushroom hair, squinted eyes, mentally crying out to be noticed, but that call is never answered. Instead, Cordelia wanders by and checks up on another closed chamber, fingers cupped around her eyes. Ringlets of hair. A peaceful face. For a moment, Cordelia's heart stops, fearing the worse as she briefly contemplates prying the seal open, but what if that will bring some harm to her friend.
No, she can't risk it, but loneliness almost skews her reason. She hadn't felt this close to helpless since the other pegasus knights had fallen, leaving her to be the sole escapee, and the memories still twist into her gut like a sword, making it hard to breathe before footsteps nearby drag her attention away. ]
Excuse me... who decides who gets to be freed or not? Why were only some of us released?
