He's definitely never heard of Storybrooke, but Maine isn't exactly familiar terrain for him, either as Bucky Barnes or his time under HYDRA control. It sounds made up, he wants to say, but they're on a giant space ship, so maybe he won't push that right now.

"I don't really know what magic entails, so I feel like committing to not freaking out might make me into a liar." But it gives him an idea of what unusual problems might be. At the very least, he's seen some things that couldn't be explained and read about more of them. Maybe magic exists in some capacity out there or maybe she's completely insane.

"I probably won't freak out, though, no."
