ii. I had to :3

[Ava wasn't a huge fan of the simulators, generally speaking. But with the timefreeze, being kept from going down to the planet's surface, and the limited information available about Nadril from the spaceship, eventually she slides in, letting herself get paired up at random. It was more boredom than anything, initially. Until she ends up in the snow that reminds her a little bit too sharply of never quite forgotten Russian winters, and red memories that aren't quite her own.

Ava moves easy in the snow, gets her bearings like someone who knows the cold. But when she sees the red hair, and that familiar frame, it feels like her blood freezes. Her own red hair is just as much a banner against the white of the freezing terrain. She doesn't say anything to Natasha at first, just shrugs her shoulders and falls into step with her, that odd way she moves like a shadow, a mirror.

The word sestra sits traitorously on her lips, and in her heart, but she leaves it there.]

And I was hoping for something with room service.

[She says it wryly, an easy sort of joke, but there's a tension to her voice of things unsaid. Familiarity, and those twined feelings of fondness and old wounds and how scared she was that Tasha wouldn't wake up.]
