It's no surprise that Heero, through some preternatural instinct for seeking out trouble involving heavy machinery, has already found his way to the cockpits used to control the remote clean-up mecha. The fact that these machines are meant for the clean-up of the planet below is inconsequential compared to the fact that this is some form of mobile suit that he has immediate access to, as Heero's main priority is to familiarize himself with this unfamiliar technology as quickly as possible.
Heero runs his hands over every control, touches every single button, and examines every screen. The technology is quite basic; a skilled mobile suit pilot like Heero can guess at how it must function just by looking at it. And yet... no matter what switch he flips or button he punches, the damn thing won't even so much as light up!
By now, Heero is looking well and truly frustrated. It seems he just isn't getting the blatant hint provided by the two seats being so close together in the mock cockpit, as he grumbles aloud (only half sarcastic):
"Is there an on button on this thing?"
Wintery Ship Problems: This is fine
He hasn't been awake for very long, but already Heero has learned not to question much in this land of undead dragons and strange, seemingly magical anomalies. He certainly isn't going to second-guess the good fortune of having winter gear mysteriously in his room - not when it is actively snowing in the mess mall. Heero sits at a table alone, wrapped up in his parka while thick clumps of powdery white snow seem to materialize from thin air, flakes of it falling on his head and melting atop his food.
For someone who came from a planet where snow on space stations is not a thing that happens, Heero looks unusually calm about it...
But, given that the sleeve of his jacket is also coated in pink slime and a hint of char, and from the dark circles under his eyes... one can imagine that sitting in the snow indoors is a vast improvement over whatever else has been happening for the past few days.
In other words, Heero has newbie written all over him.
