[ JJ just boggles at Edward for a moment when the other teen moves like he plans to protect JJ from the unholy creature ambling their way. It's one thing to be able to handle a regular corpse—and that's weird enough on its own—but they're talking about an actual monster here. The stuff of nightmares.
For all intents and purposes, they should both be pissing their pants right now. ]
How fast can I— how fast can you run?
[ Because JJ is absolutely not here for any of this heroic posturing, and while he'd been happy to let Edward take of their earlier problem, he's not callous enough to abandon the other teen now. It's obvious that Edward thinks he can handle this however, though why he would think that is beyond JJ. He doesn't have the time to ask either, which is why he doesn't bother giving any warning before he grabs Edward by the arm, fingers digging into the fabric of his sleeve, yanking roughly to the point that he's practically dragging the other teen with him as he turns tail to bolt in the other direction down the hallway.
And while their escape should be viewed as them admitting that the creature is too strong for them to handle (a compliment, obviously), the mummy behind them doesn't appear to take kind to it, unleashing another deafening shriek loud enough to rattle the walls around them, dust creaking and pouring from the ceiling. Until the hallway really is shaking around them, the mummy hot in its pursuit and its footsteps thundering around them.
Then there's JJ, heart pounding in his chest, barely thinking and focusing all his energy on running, though he's certainly not above letting out a yelp of panic. ]
