The Stark purpose. He come across a witness to the burning of Winterfell - Theon Greyjoy's squire. A mute, but Robert Glover and Manderly have been teaching him letters. They still have ways for the lad to teach him fully of his words, but he's been learning quick. Bolton claimed that it was Greyjoy who killed Ser Rodrick Cassel, but Wex - the squire - said it was Snow who did the deed, and presumably, his men slain the other northmen as well. After that he killed the ironborn and the rest, Snow put Winterfell to the torch.
(( Davos turn to look into Wyman Manderly's pod, sleeping deeply. Is he dreaming a northman's dreams of vengeance, with a man's guts gracing the branches of a weirwood, as Ser Baritmus described? The north is truly separate from the rest of Westeros. It was a chilling thing to hear Manderly speak. Davos can almost bring himself to pity the three Frey siblings that slander the Young Wolf and his men.
Almost. ))
The squire survived by climbing the heart tree, and he watched the other ironborn being cut down. There he saw six people - not his ironborn, and not the bastard's men. Other survivors, with two boys . . . and two wolves.
Theon Greyjoy never killed the remaining Stark boys. I don't know why he didn't, or how they escaped. Either way his squire followed them, and when the group split up, and he followed a woman with one boy and his wolf. He knows where they are. And Manderly wants my smuggling skills to bring him back from Skagos.
In return to bringing back the Stark boy and his wolf, he will offer White Harbor's sword and horse and ships. Robert Glover is grateful of you freeing Deepwood Motte, and when I return with the Stark boy and his wolf, he too will join you.
(( However, with knowing that Manderly is in Winterfell with the Boltons and the Freys, he wonders what kind of game of vengeance Manderly is playing against them. Is he planning a sabotage from within as Stannis is attacking the castle? Or will Manderly swords will turn on Bolton forces in the turning point of battle? Difficult to say, and Davos wouldn't know during his secretive trip to Skagos - and that's assuming the Skagosi won't have him as dinner, if the stories are true about them. If Stannis lose, then it might be up to Davos to rally the North with the Stark boy and put Shireen on the Iron Throne. ))
So that's my side to my story. A fake death, and lords who want me to go back to my smuggling roots for the Starks. Your Grace, may I ask what transpired to you after I left Eastwatch?
