Victarion Greyjoy? Truly?

(( What kind of place is this? It sounds like a bad mummery, but Stannis is never a man for mummers. Once Stannis asked him what has happen, Davos taken in a deep breath. Lots and lots have occurred without Stannis' knowing. ))

Many things occurred, Your Grace. I was in White Harbor. Salladhor Saan's fleet have been wrecked by storms, and he abandoned us, but not before letting me off at the Sweetsister, where I was caught buying passage off the island. I was taken to Lord Godric Borrell who informed me of the deaths of Lysa Tully and Tywin Lannister. Lady Cersei now rules King's Landing, which gave Borrell enough doubts to let me go. Eventually I manage to arrive at White Harbor, to New Castle. When I went over to a winesink to learn of the latest news, I learned Robert Glover is in White Harbor as well, though Manderly have been ignoring him.

(( A pause. Would Stannis know of Davos' "death"? The Wall is the last to know, as Borell once note. But Stannis would be marching his way to Winterfell, most the like. ))

By the time I was admitted to court, the Freys have already reached to Manderly, offering peace with his dead son's bones. He promised his granddaughters to the Frey, and proclaimed sick of the fighting, and refused me. He sent me to the Wolf's Dead to await execution, to please the Freys and King's Landing.

(( It still feels strange to think that he is dead, and a man had to die for Davos's likeness. ))

But it was all a mummer's farce. He executed another man instead, dipped his head in tar and shoved an onion in his mouth to twist the features, and cut the fingers off his hand to mimic my own. It fooled the Freys and King's Landing. He kept me in hiding for several more weeks to ensure everyone believed I was dead.

(( Including Stannis, if that's what it took for Manderly to get his vengeance. ))

I don't know if you heard that, but if you did, I assure you, Lord Manderly did not kill me.
