[ from time to time, Stannis attempts to visit the stasis units. occasionally, it is to check on his elder brother, or his daughter. other times, it is to observe Melisandre, and ponder whether he can trust her, after all that he has learned, and how different things might truly be. on very rare occasions, he might even see Selyse, as and lord husband ought to. but most times he walks among the stasis units, he returns to visit one Lord Davos Seaworth, often asking him questions that he knows the man will never hear, waiting for the honest counsel that will never come.

until today, it would seem.

how long had it been since he had last seen his Onion Lord, truly alive and awake? not since Eastwatch, which seemed so long ago. with relative ease, he takes his place next to the other man, observing the faces along with him. faces that should be dead.
