[ Gilgamesh feels it's quite an honor he's bestowed upon Reinhardt, allowing him the use of his own personal treasury, but watching how eager he is to take it, how willing he is to put it to good use ... He can't find himself regretting it, per se. Gilgamesh already has a more positive opinion of Reinhardt than he has of most he first meets, his standards as high as they are.

But Reinhardt's straightforwardness is nostalgic in a way that might be biasing Gilgamesh towards him already. And the sight -- whatever this Earthshatter is, his equivalent of a Noble Phantasm? -- of this dragon staggering from the force of Reinhardt's blow ... it sends any regrets he could have possibly had about Reinhardt using his weapon out the window. The dragon's clearly been whittled down by the efforts of both of them, and as its knees start to buckle Gilgamesh finally moves from where he had been firing stationary.

And though he walks he walks much faster than a human would be able to, aiming to set himself under where Reinhardt will fall as the dragon finally goes down, unsettling whatever foothold Reinhardt has on its head.

If he falls, basically, Gilgamesh is there to catch him. It's more a sign of respect for a battle well fought than anything too sentimental.
