Hmm... at least as far as the Earth I come from is concerned, Assiah and Gehenna are two sides of the same world. Assiah contains the physical world, where humans and life flourish. In contrast, Gehenna is a world of emptiness -- a mirror image of Assiah, and yet lacking in everything that makes the physical world so appealing.
Admittedly, t's a bit difficult to comprehend without experiencing it -- much like if you were to attempt to describe your own world of Novo in simple terms, I'm sure.
