rather than shocked or horrified, aichi just feels defeated.
but he doesn't let that stop him for long - if he's here, and other people are here, there's always some kind of hope. ungracefully slipping out of his pod and clattering to the floor, aichi finally takes in his surroundings, including the empty pod beside his.

[instinctively, as soon as aichi registers the package thrown into his hands, he tries to call out to return it. then he hears the shouting of what is apparently his pursuers, remembers the details of what he'd been told about the simulation, and manages to take off running without tripping over his own feet.
but he's always been on the smaller side, and damnit he was a science student these days, it's not like he had time for much long-distance running! thankfully some of his heroic habits had ingrained themselves in him enough that he could find viable narrow routes, but he's quickly out of breath. please help him.]

[it's probably a worry that the feeling of the vine piercing his chest and tugging at his heartstrings doesn't feel too unfamiliar. it's not the first time a seed has taken root in aichi's chest, though this one is certainly a more literal, and the painful compulsion to seek that it causes is marginally less horrible.
he should know better than to touch strange red things at this point.]
