You're not the first person to say that.

[ She may be teasing and he may be responding with a light tease of his own, but there's some truth in what he says, too. He's been clean now for two years, and that's a milestone he never thought he'd hit; he should have been dead a few times over, years ago; losing Nellie was the worst experience of his life, not just for the sheer loss of her, but for the fact that he'd had it in his head that he'd be the one to go first. He should have gone first. But she'd died, and in dying, she'd saved him.

The last real conversation they'd had, she told him to bring her brother back to her, but what neither of them could have known then was that she would be the one bringing him back.

Even being clean, it's still taken him time to get himself physically healthy again, and he's just never quite been able to get a healthy color to his face, but he's certainly healthier and happier looking than he's been for most of his adult life. ]


I'm not an outdoorsy type, as you can imagine - usually my personal assistant takes care of everything for me. So I'll definitely need some help around Olympia. Know anyone?
