[Lance stares at that last reply for longer than he'd ever care to admit to himself. It's probably one of the more reassuring things Keith's ever said to him, and though he knows that towards the end that they definitely were friends, Keith had left team Voltron to go be with the blades just as Lance was really beginning to feel secure about where he really stood - not only in relation to the team, but in relation to Keith, too.
It's a little strange, admittedly. They'd all been so busy trying to keep everything from falling apart that there'd barely been much room or space to dwell on the people who should've been there but weren't. The people Lance would've liked to talk to about Shiro's cold dismissiveness, Lotor's silver tongue, the way he'd been feeling a little more edged out because Pidge and Hunk spoke their own language a lot of the times. Lance sighs, rubbing the back of his head as he waits.
It's not a long wait as it turns out though and as soon as he spots Keith, Lance gets tp his feet and walks over.\

[His tone is genuinely excited at first!! And then as he approaches, he realizes there's just... a lot that just isn't as he remembers. No surprises there, given Keith's been here for some time apparently, but seeing Keith in person somehow puts this into better perspective. Lance thought he'd have better things to say -- that he might actually be able to interact with a friend without turning this into yet another round of twenty questions, but any thought of saying something as simple as "long time, no see, I've missed you buddy" goes flying out the window.]
You're... taller? [And older? And is that-] ...is that a scar?
[Lance shakes his head. giving his eyes a quick rub. His voice stays calm for now, but there's an undertone of alarm and incredulity creeping back into his body language.]
