So he'd planted them next to the vegetables, a little bit away to give the roots room to grow. And now, to his surprise and delight, he can see green in his garden bed.
"Well that didn't take long at all," he muses, delicately touching the leaf of something sprouting. He'd expected to wait months, not the handful of weeks that this growth had taken.
And the window box is doing even better, little stems stretching up towards the sky.
